In Zimbabwe, Great Lakes has a joint venture in Romsdal Investments, with Corporate Excellence, a local private equity company. Romsdal, which owns the Triangle Cotton Gin in the Lowveld, employs around 1,300 people during the season including staff at its 32 buying centres. The ginnery produces around 300 bales per day and is well known for its high quality lint. Romsdal provides cotton seed, cash and pesticides to around 13,000 farmers, most of whom operate over one hectare of cotton farmland.
